Assuming that I need to create a blog post for a Canadian website, which sells diamond jewelry; these would be my answers:
- Niche: Lifestyle, luxury
- Targeted Audience: Internet users who are self-dependent, rich, have a taste for class, having large disposable income, not afraid to purchase expensive goods online. 80% would be women, and 20% men.
- Pain points: Less time to spend on shopping; need to satisfy their urge for luxury, class; need to please someone important, while not appearing too arrogant.
- Desired Outcome: The reader subscribes to our news letter, and purchase a product from our website, rank for our targeted keywords
There are infinite ways to create a 500 worded blog post, in any niche. However, in order to simplify the process, I normally use this 5 question strategy:
Why
What
Where
When
How
Every question can generate thousands of blog post ideas. Taking the example of the diamond jewelry business, some ideas can be:
Why: Why diamond; why pleasing someone important in your life is crucial for a happy relationship; why should a rich husband always buy diamonds as gift?
What: History of diamond industry; current market stats, figures, What is happiness, What does it mean to make someone happy?
Where: Where can you buy the best raw diamonds, Where are major diamond mines, Where can you find world’s largest diamond?
When: We can use the current time to generate content ideas. Example Christmas, New year, Thanksgiving
How: How to identify genuine diamond (a mini-series can be developed on this), How to choose the best diamond, “Diamond Shopping Guide”, How to bargain in an off-line diamond purchase?
